How We Work

For Family History Biographies I will need to be able to see your family tree and to access all the facts and information that you’ve researched. If this isn’t possible online then you can email or post the information whether handwritten or otherwise.

Once this is received and any other information that you would like me to include in the book, for example, photographs, letters, birth/marriage/death certificates, newspaper articles etc that you might have in your possession, I will request 50% of the total cost to move onto the next stage.
The process of writing up all your research and adding in your memorabilia will begin. I will give you weekly updates of how I am getting on and if anything else comes to mind you can let me know throughout the process.
I will give you some indication of when the project is coming to an end.
Before the book is released I will require the remainder of the cost to be paid.
If you would like further copies of the book then this will incur additional costs dictated to by the printers. Generally, the more you order, the cheaper the cost per book.

I Check the Research

I will use your family tree research as a base and will check all the facts against the historical documents available. I will use these to validate existing dates and fill any gaps I can, ensuring that the final narrative is accurate and comprehensive.

Write It Up as a Custom Biography

Here at, Family History Studio, I take each ancestor in your direct line and create a biography of that individual telling their unique story, giving attention to their character, where possible, and bringing their story to life using historical and social context.

Final Family History Delivery

Once the book is printed and bound I can deliver in person locally or at a mutually agreed location. Otherwise the final book will be posted using Royal Mail. If preferred, the final book can be emailed as a PDF.
